The Sierra
Meditation Center is nestled in the heart of
the Sierra Foothills, a few miles from the beautiful and historic
town of Nevada City, California. Our setting is ideal. We
are centrally located, yet surrounded by fragrant
Cedars and tall Pines. Birdsongs are heard during
our sunrise meditations, and deer are often spotted
in the twilight of the evening.
Currently, we have a very sweet meditation space for private meditation practice. The setting is neutral and inviting, yet the lovely decor creates a peaceful and especially uplifting atmosphere. The intention of our space
is to create a nurturing and beautiful external
environment, in order to help cultivate these same
qualities of nurturance and beauty within.
Because our space is limited and to participate in green living, carpooling is strongly
advised.
One special request that we ask of all our guests is
to always remove their shoes when indoors. We
appreciate the newly refurbished floors and carpets,
and look forward to keeping its fresh quality.
Also, there are no drugs, alcohol, or smoking of any
kind permitted on the property at any time. We
encourage our guests to use their time here as a
healthy retreat, and support the deepest levels of
consciousness in body, mind, heart, and spirit.
Many of our meditations and programs are offered on a donation basis.
Your monetary contribution is an important way of
taking part in the existence as well as the
maintenance and upkeep of the center. We always have
a great sense of gratitude when participants of the
center offer their own contributions, in any way
that they can. All
offerings are graciously appreciated.
Other ways of contributing to the center are to
offer service in various forms. We are currently
looking for help in the following areas:
- Long-term planning and logistical management of a
501(c)(3) spiritual center: legal issues, accounting,
fundraising, etc.

Publicity and public outreach
- Computer/website upkeep and programming (local, last
minute help especially)
- Small construction / carpentry projects
- Landscaping /
gardening / plant care
- Cleaning
- Childcare
Partial barters are sometimes accepted for private
consultations, and sometimes also for classes and special events that we offer. If
you'd like to explore this option, please inquire.
We welcome you to call to arrange for a private tour
of the center, and we hope to see you at our
meditations and other offerings.
