The former "Sierra Center For Meditation and Well-Being" is undergoing some wonderful changes!
Our stay at our Ridge Road location has now come to an end. We have thoroughly enjoyed creating our center and offering meditations and community gatherings in this past year. We look forward to continuing our service, but will be specializing in offering a place where persons of like mind and heart can come to relax and retreat from their daily concerns. We hope to create a place of beauty, peace and nurturing where guests can come more freely and experience a respite from their everyday routine.
Our immediate goals are twofold:
One is to raise funds to build a round, wooden structure that would be continuously open on a daily basis for personal consultations, meditation and quiet reflection.
The second is to move ahead in forming a non-profit organization geared towards promoting meditation, spiritual awareness and personal growth within the broader community.
At this point we are actively seeking persons who feel an affinity to the center and it's goals to become involved in helping to promote it's purpose. Our intention is to create our new center as a community project, drawing in all who recognize our societies need to establish intimate places geared towards healing and connection. To that end, there are several ways that you may participate:
One is to apply to join our newly forming nonprofit board of directors. This will be a core group of active participants who's role is to help make decisions and carry out activities which support our center's mission and objectives. Here, each individual will have opportunities to manifest their own visions in relation to a center such as ours. Persons interested in exploring the possibility of joining us are encouraged to give us a call.
Also, we welcome anyone interested in contributing a tax deductible donation to this project to please contact us.
We are eagerly anticipating the ongoing service of the new Sierra Meditation Center. As our plans are newly developing, please check back often to see the most current details.

* * * May 1st '07 Update * * *
In early March, we have found and purchased a two acre piece of property where our new center is being created. We have changed our name to the "Sierra Meditation Center", and we are enjoying the creation of our beautiful new sanctuary and daytime retreat.
The new center is located just a few miles from downtown Nevada City, and is situated in a quiet, wooded setting. Our preliminary meditation space is nearly completed as fundraising begins for a permanent structure as pictured above.
Several aspects of our new center are still under construction. Anyone interested in joining in any of our building projects is welcome to come and spend a few hours or a day. It's exciting, and fun!
